Banana Bread with dates

This yummy banana bread also uses plump dates.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 cup sugar

1 beaten egg

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 cup roughly chopped dates

1 1/2 cups plain flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon carb soda

3 mashed, ripe bananas

Method

Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg and bananas. Stir in dry ingredients and fold into mixture. Add milk and dates.

Place in loaf tin and bake 35 -40 minutes, in a moderate oven,  350°F/180°C.

Turn onto wire cooling rack, and serve warm with butter.
